ADULT MINISTRY

Are you interested in developing relationships with other positive adult believers on the journey of life and faith?

Well you have found the right group. The Adult Fellowship is just that - Christians coming together to fellowship in an enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere as we share life's adventures together.

The group takes periodic trips on our comfortable church bus and enjoys travel, good food, fellowship, and site seeing.

Please come and join us at our next event.

You really don't have to take this journey of life alone.

Acts 2:44 All the believers were together
and had everything in common.

Nantahala Gorge Excursion!

ALL ABOARD for a scenic train adventure through the fertile valleys and rolling river gorges of the Great Smoky Mountains. This area of Western North Carolina offers a vast array of ever changing, beautiful landscapes throughout the year. We will be traveling the Nantahala Gorge excursion. Departing from Bryson City, this 4.5 hour trip carries you 44 miles to the Nantahala Gorge and back again. Travel along the Little Tennessee and Nantahala Rivers, over the impressive Fontana Lake Trestle and into the magic of the Nantahala Gorge. There is a one hour layover at Nantahala Outdoor Center for enjoying breathtaking scenery and incredible river views.

We will be leaving the church at 8:30 am on Thursday, October 21 traveling to Bryson City, NC. Arrangements will be made for lunch in Bryson City which will be at your own expense. The train departs at 2:00 pm and will return at 6:30 pm. Overnight stay in Bryson City at the Sleep Inn. Leaving Bryson City early the next morning, we will travel to the Great Smoky Mountain Park and tour Cades Cove for more beautiful autumn scenery. Lunch will be at the Huck Finn Restaurant in Pigeon Forge, TN. After lunch, we will return to the church arriving somewhere in the neighborhood of 4:00 pm.

Cost for this trip will be:

  • Coach fare for the railroad $47.70 per person, if we have 20 people going. If you are a veteran, $26.50 per person. Good for the veteran but not their spouse. $53.00 if we do not have 20 people going.
  • One nights lodging at $89.70. This is per room so if 2 and/or 4 people share a room, the cost would be divided accordingly. We have 7 rooms with 2 queen beds and 9 rooms with one king bed reserved. They are all on the lower level.
  • Meals, souvenirs, extra expenditures, etc. will be on your own. Bryson City is a unique, older, interesting town. Research it on the internet to learn more.
  • Money will be taken up on the bus for gas or we may set a specific amount to cover the cost of the gas.

If you are interested in making this trip, please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall. We need definite numbers so plan accordingly and sign ups need to be made as quickly as possible. Checks will need to be made to the church with a notation in the memo line for Railroad Trip. All monies for the tickets and the room need to be made no later than September 19, 2010. Please read the sign up sheet closely as there are definite answers that need to be given.
