Purpose Of Music/Worship Ministry
Kingsport Community Church has maintained a tradition
of excellence in music and the arts for many years. We continue that
tradition with a dynamic program of Christian music, praise band, children's
music, and our media ministry.
Our vision is to worship God and to encourage His people
to worship Him.
Our mission is to facilitate a celebrative, collaborative
worship of God by allowing the Holy Spirit to work through the praise
team (band and choir) in leading and modeling worship.
Praise Choir: Consists of
anyone 13 or older who can carry a tune in a joyful and pleasing-to-the-ear
manner and has a love and desire to praise the Lord corporately.
Essential to membership would a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ as Savior and Lord, and a daily worship/devotional time
on your own with the Lord. Rehearsals are every Wednesday at 7:00
p.m. in the sanctuary. |

Praise Band: Consists of anyone
who plays a musical instrument. The only three requirements
needed are a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior
and Lord, a daily worship/devotional time on your own with the
Lord, and that you know how to play the music for your instrument
skillfully.
(Psalm 33:1-3) - (New International Version)
Psalm 33
1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2 Praise the LORD with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
Rehearsals are every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
in the sanctuary.

JOYLAND Children's Choir: This is our choir
for children (5 to 12 years of age) that rehearses on Sunday
night from 6 - 7 p.m. during the school year. The JOYLAND Choir
prepares two major productions each year. All children are welcomed
and encouraged to sing, play, and learn.
Mrs. Linda McEwen is the JOYLAND Choir director.

Media Ministry: This ministry
is open to anyone (ages 14 to 114) who has a love for the Lord
and a desire to have God’s Word seen and heard in an excellent
manner. Some basic knowledge of computers and sound equipment
is helpful; however, training will be given to those interested
in learning. The recording of the services, sermons, and special
events are key to this ministry so that many of the shut-ins can
hear them. Moreover, they are used as an outreach tool by church
members to hand out in the community through the “Messages
2 Go” ministry. |
