MUSICAL OPPORTUNITIES

Purpose Of Music/Worship Ministry

If the highest purpose of mankind is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever music is a joyful expression of that purpose.

Kingsport Community Church aspires to maintain a tradition of excellence in music and the arts with a dynamic program of Christian music, praise band, children's music, and our media ministry. Blended with a full choir and praise band, we sing both more recent songs of praise and the timeless favorite hymns of our historic faith. We especially enjoy the mixture of the legacy of the old with the sound of today.

Our vision is to enjoy and celebrate our faith as we worship God together.

Psalm 33:1-3 - (New International Version)

1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

2 Praise the LORD with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.

3 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.

Praise Choir: If you have musical talents and love God we would welcome your involvement in our choir. A personal relationship with Christ as Savior and Lord, and a consistent devotional time with Him will enrich not only your life but your contribution to the church’s worship.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary, and is open to anyone 13-years and older.

Praise Band: If you play a musical instrument and have a desire to express your love of and commitment to God through music, this is the team for you.

Rehearsals are every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

JOYLAND Children's Choir: Our children’s choir for ages 5 to 12 rehearses on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. during the school year. The JOYLAND Choir prepares two major productions each year. All children are welcomed and encouraged to sing, play, and learn.

Mrs. Linda McEwen is the JOYLAND Choir director.

Media Ministry: If you enjoy working with lights, sound, and at times video there is a place for you on this valuable “behind the scenes” team. If you are comfortable working with a computer, we will provide the specific training you will need to assist in this ministry. The recording of the services, sermons, and special events are key to this ministry so that many of the shut-ins can hear them. Moreover, they are used as an outreach tool by church members to hand out in the community through the “Messages 2 Go” ministry.

Pianist/Organist: Kingsport Community Church is pleased to have exceptional instruments for our worship experience. Anyone wanting to play either the piano or organ for a Sunday service, or offertory, please contact the church office.
