Senior Pastor, Ron Lowe: ron@kingsportchurch.org


Our pastor, Ron Lowe, is a Kingsport native who attended East Tennessee State University, Anderson School of Theology and holds a B.A. degree from Anderson University. Before returning to his hometown to pastor our church he pastored two growing churches - one in Vero Beach, Florida and the other in Dayton, Ohio. Pastor Lowe and his wife Jo Ann have three sons and six grandchildren. He is committed to sharing the good news of the Gospel addressing real needs of people. He believes following Christ really works. His messages often deal with God’s love and forgiveness, how to grow in faith and how to know God’s presence and power in your life.

Minister of Music, Mark Stayton: mark@kingsportchurch.org


Mark Stayton is our minister of worship and leads a blended worship experience drawing on the rich traditions of the past while valuing the body of work God is inspiring today. Our choir shares special music and cantatas throughout the year. Mark has served three other churches in the Midwest before coming to our church in 1978. He holds a B.A. degree from Bethel College. Mark and his wife Jenny have three children and four beautiful grandchildren.

Associate Minister, Colonel Bob Rothman, USAF Chaplain, Retired: robert@kingsportchurch.org


Rev. Bob Rothman brings rich experiences to our church as a minister. After graduating from Vanderbilt School of Theology he served in the USAF as a career chaplain. He rose to the position of full Colonel before retiring. He and his wife Rowena, who plays organ in the church, own a farm in Hancock County. He sings in the choir and teaches a Sunday School class and often fills the pulpit.

Associate Pastor, Youth, Brian Ricketts: brian@kingsportchurch.org


Associate Pastor of Youth, Brian Ricketts and his wife Rebekah with their two sons love being a part of the Kingsport Community Church. Brian attended Berea College where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology. Brian is a ordained minister by the Church of God Ministries of Anderson, Indiana and serves as an associate pastor here at Kingsport Community Church. He is committed to helping disciple youth into mature Christian adults. He believes in the saving power of the message of Jesus Christ and the ability to live out what we learn through biblical teaching.

Children's Ministry Director Teresa Anderson


Teresa Anderson has led our Children's Ministry program since 2007. She has been a member of this church for over fifteen years and has taught Sunday School classes for the last ten years. Teresa finds great joy in spending time with our kids as they share God's love and experience the wonderful stories of the Bible together. Teresa holds an A.A.S. in Accounting from Northeast State Technical Community College. She lives in Kingsport with her husband, Chris and two daughters.

Associate Pastor, Angel Food Ministries, Chris Ricketts: chris@kingsportchurch.org


Associate Pastor Chris Ricketts and his wife Carie are proud to call Kingsport home. Chris attended Berea College where he graduated with a BS in Business Administration. He also holds an MBA from East Tennessee State University. Chris is licensed minister by the Church of God Ministries of Anderson, Indiana and serves as an associate pastor here at Kingsport Community Church. He is committed to outreach and missions work in Kingsport and Eastern Tennessee. He believes in the saving power of the message of Jesus Christ. He is often quoted in saying "We live by faith not by sight."

Counselor and Coordinator, Celebrate Recovery, Mel Matheson: cr@kingsportchurch.org

 

Mel Matheson is the enthusiastic director of our Celebrate Recovery program which meets every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall (Oasis Café). He is particularly pleased to identify our “higher power” in the 12 Steps as Christ the Lord. Mel has a Bachelors’ degree in social work (BSW) from ETSU and a MSW degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. He is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Tennessee, is an experienced counselor and knows recovery principles first hand. He also does fee based Christian Counseling and may be reached directly at 423-863-2900 or through the church office. His email address is melrmatheson@yahoo.com. Mel’s wife, Kay, is a realtor in Kingsport attends our church as well.

Lay Minister, Ron McEwen

 

Ron McEwen is a native of Tennessee. He attended South Western College in Texas, Southeastern College in Florida, ETSU, and Tusculum College. He has a degree in management and in Bible History. He has worked in other churches as Youth Minister and Assistant Minister and has done some Evangelist work. He believes that Christ is the answer to our every need, and that the church is God's hand of ministry in our world today. He also believes that people live life with joy because of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. He welcomes you to give God a chance in your life. He invites you to be part of God moving in Kingsport Community Church where our goal is to know Him and make Him known. Ron's wife, Linda McEwen, is our Children's Choir Director.

Adult Fellowship, Larry & Doris Gaw


Larry and Doris Gaw, Chairpersons of the Adult Fellowship, moved to Church Hill from Anderson, Indiana in December of 2007. Both are life long members of the Church of God. Doris was raised in the Goshen Valley CHOG and Larry was raised in the South Meridian CHOG in Anderson. They love people, love fellowshipping together, and love the Lord even more.

Parish Nurse - Susie Garland

 

Susie has been a Critical Care Nurse for over 25 years, and has graciously volunteered to take over the Parish Nurse position at Kingsport Community Church. She has completed the training required, and is employed at Holston Vally in the ICU unit. Susie is a native of our area, and has been a member of the church since she was 11-years-old. She has always wanted to be a nurse, and we are blessed to have Susie as our new Parish Nurse.

Juanita Starnes, Kingsport Community Church's sectretary, is a native of Kingport, Tennessee. She attended ETSU, and worked for 25 years at Holston Valley Medical Center. Juanita is also a retired realtor. She began attending Kingsport Community Church in 2003, and has been on staff since August of 2005.

Bookkeeper & Ministry Assistant, Debbie Aldeen: debbie@kingsportchurch.org


Debbie Aldeen is our Church Bookkeeper and Ministry Assistance. Debbie has been a church member for 28 years, and on staff for 14 years. She has a heart to serve God's people and does so in many different ways. Debbie has served in several ministry positions within the church and brings a fresh and interesting perspective to each ministry in which she participates. We are so thankful to have Debbie on staff. She has been dedicated servant and is truly a woman of God. Debbie lives here in Kingsport with her husband Mark, and has three adult children.
